The fish is praised for its perfect crispiness on the outside and tender, flaky goodness on the inside—both the cod and haddock receive glowing reviews. The homemade tartar sauce stands out as a favorite, perfectly complementing the fish. Regulars appreciate the clean environment and the friendly, welcoming staff who add to the positive experience. Like any busy eatery, peak times can lead to longer wait times, especially on Fridays. Some customers mention that during these busy hours, seating becomes limited and suggests planning an earlier or later visit for a more relaxed experience. A few patrons have noted that, while the prices fall within the reasonable range, some may find themselves gravitating toward pricier menu options, especially with tempting extras. Others express a desire for more vegetarian options, as the focus is predominantly on fish and meat dishes. Though the atmosphere is cozy, parts of it may feel a bit cramped during busier periods, which could detract from the overall enjoyment of the meal for some visitors.
Just WOW!!! What an experience! The guy behind the counter was super friendly and welcoming. He was helpful with our order and even gave us refreshment towels before our meal arrived. One of us had the cod, the other took the haddock, and we shared one large portion of chips, which was a good decision because the portion sizes are big. The fish was perfect - very crispy on the outside and hot and perfectly cooked on the inside! Just yummy! The chips were very good too. Overall a very good meal and an excellent value for the reasonable price of it. Top! 👍 - PS: A bus stop is right in front of the shop (lines 211 and 295).
One of the best fish and chips restaurants in London. We ordered cod fish and haddok fish both are very tasty and delicious, even the chis is very tasty. Different kinds of sauces home made all are super. I would like to thank Mr. Bacha for his warm welcoming and professional service. Highly recommended 👍
Such a clean place with very friendly and welcoming staff. We came here to have traditional fish and chips, and were not disappointed. Generous serves and the most delicious homemade tartare sauce. Great location right next to the bus stop. Lots of locals coming into the shop.
Been looking for a decent chippy since George's closed. This place is the nuts! Serving cod, haddock, rock and plaice plus the usual save lots, battered sausages, pickled eggs, wallies. Fish was huge and good, batter was decent, chips were proper. Home made tartaric sauce was terrific. Usually go old school but was so tasty, impossible to resist. Friendly people, clean, busy there's not many batter places in London
Clean area, super friendly staff, great prices, small but quaint atmosphere. Amazing fish and chips. The Haddock fish and chips might be the best in the world. YOU GET THE WHOLE DARN FISH...! You have to try this place, you won't be disappointed.
It was my first time visiting Baileys after a match at Stamford Bridge, and it was such a great experience. The Turkish staff member was incredibly kind and attentive, offering excellent service. I only ordered the fish, but he kindly added chips for me, which was a lovely surprise. After finishing my meal, we had a really nice chat, which made the experience even more memorable. It’s the first time I’ve felt like I’d want to come back just to see the same staff again. Highly recommended if you are nearby!
The food was magnificent for me and my boyfriend. The haddock we ordered was freshly fried in batter, so did for chips. The dish smelled really good, everything in place and around the tables were clean. The homemade tatar sauce was divine for us. The staff (we think it was an owner) was kind and friendly. The price for humongous fish that was served for 2 people, was ok. Small local restaurant, but at the same time cosy and spacious. Best regards, two metalheads.
